The quiet end of Kavos

Kavos has a reputation, and it is a fair one. It is also about a twenty-minute walk long — and we are at the far end of it.

The quiet end of Kavos

Where the noise actually is

The strip Kavos is known for is concentrated in the centre of the village. We are at its southern end, where the road runs out and the coast turns towards Arkoudilas.

The practical difference is this: the bars are close enough to walk to when you want them, and far enough that what you hear at night is the sea.

What is around us instead

The property sits in 7500 m² of quiet green ground, with the sandy beach directly below the garden. Most of what a day needs is inside the gate or a few minutes outside it.

  • Our own stretch of sand, gently shelving, with sun loungers
  • A 100 m² pool looking out over the sea, and a bar between the two
  • Restaurants and bars, 300 m
  • The bus stop, 200 m
  • Agios Petros beach, eight minutes' walk
  • The centre of Kavos, twenty minutes' walk

Who tends to book this end

Families with young children, couples, and people who want the beach in the morning and the option of the strip in the evening rather than the other way round.

If you are coming to Kavos mainly for the nightlife, you will spend a good part of each evening walking back. That is worth knowing before you book rather than after.

The rest of the south

Being at the end of the island is not a limitation. Arkoudilas and its cliffs are about 3 km away, Lefkimmi and its port about 8, and the boats to Paxos, Antipaxos and the Albanian coast leave from closer to us than to anywhere else on Corfu.
